8U LACROSSE
Age Breakdown for 8U: June 1, 2014 - May 31, 2016
Description of 8U: 8U is an introductory level of lacrosse which focuses on learning the game and the skills of the game. It is played full-padded and 4 v 4 lacrosse with no goalies. The team will practice at least 2 times per week with play days (typically 3 20-minute games) held on Sundays at a different site each week. Equipment loan available.
Philosophy of 8U from USA Lacrosse:
8U lacrosse is many young athletes’ first experience with the sport of lacrosse. The boys entering at this point have a vast difference in their physical and cognitive development. The focus at this level should be to help children learn and build fundamental athletic skills. Coaches, parents, and officials should model and emphasize an inclusive culture.
